Arvi And James in Nicaragua – January 2022-
Arvi and James in Nicaragua!
Songwriting, Fine Food, Cooking Classes and Yoga in a Stunning Location
A Unique 7-Day Retreat Experience with James Gordon and Arvi Gosmo
January 15-21 2022
Old friends, Arvi and James hadn’t really worked together till this summer when they hosted what seemed to be an odd combo for a retreat: a weekend of songwriting, cooking classes, fine food and yoga. It worked! Their combined talents and experience created an environment that encouraged creativity, collaboration and just savouring the moment with a fine group of people in a great setting. The pair are planning more adventures, and the first confirmed one is, yes, in Nicaragua, at the incredible “Eden On The Chocolata”, https://www.edenchocolata.com/eco-lodge-nicaragua/ not far from the ‘hippie surfer’ town of San Juan del Sur.
It’ll be an intimate gathering. We have room for 12 participants.
For a week in this magical spot, James will nurture songwriters and aspiring writers towards completing at least two songs from scratch, and along the way there will be workshops, song-sharing circles, jam sessions and one-on-one sessions. No experience necessary. Arvi will prepare delicious gourmet meals and teach two cooking classes around her specialty, international cuisine, and something based on the local culture.
Each morning, before a late breakfast provided by the retreat centre, she’ll lead a yoga class on the stunning ‘yoga deck’. Nothing is compulsory, so choose your own agenda. There will be time for yourself, to write and explore, and a ‘group’ dinner in town with a tour. There’s a lot to see in the area, and for one day you’ll be on your own after brunch. There’s lots to inspire you to create, and lots to offer just to chill!
Here’s what’s included with the week, which costs 1800 CDN dollars,(early bird special), airfare not included:
- Free shuttle service from the Managua airport. (We’re hoping you can all arrive by noon on the 15th. Lots of flights available).
- You’ll be sharing a beautiful bungalow with one other participant, or if you are a couple you get your own with a king bed. Each bungalow has its own bathroom.
- All food provided, except for your ‘day on your own’. Alcoholic beverages extra: (there’s a bar/snack bar on site).
- Yoga mats and props are provided.
- Daily songwriting group gatherings and assignments
- A recording of your songs when they are done and performed for the group. Often the other participants will become your backup band.
James will make sure any of your songwriting goals are addressed and met, and Arvi will tend to any special dietary needs.
We’re letting you know a year in advance since we expect it to sell out, and we need to confirm with the retreat centre in a few months. We DO reserve the right to postpone if there are still pandemic issues then. Let’s hope for the best!
What we need to reserve your spot is 50% (CDN$900) paid in advance, and the balance due one month before you fly south. The “Late Bird” rate is CND$1975, after Sept 1st2021.
Arvi and James would love to have you join them for what looks like a rewarding and relaxing retreat.
